Meet the artist

Jasmyn Buck, also known as β€˜Buckspaintings’, is an abstract artist based in Amsterdam, holding a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Marketing. Alongside her painting career, she works as a creative producer.

About Jasmyn

From a young age, Jasmyn began exploring her creative side. Drawing, playing with fabrics, and trying out different crafts were the early steps on her artistic journey. These early experiences laid the groundwork for what would follow.

A turning point came when she discovered figurative art through painting classes. During these classes she learned the basics of using brushes, shadows, perspectives and mixing colors. However, she was looking for a different way to express herself artistically. This led her artistic journey to abstract art.

With abstract art she found a sense of freedom without limits. It allowed her to let her imagination and emotions flow in a new and unrestricted way.

About the Art
"Capturing nature's beauty through art.’

At the heart of Jasmyn's art is a constant theme: nature. It's her main source of inspiration and captures her attention every day. Whether it's the peacefulness of calm landscapes or the energy of storms, or even the textures of cracked concrete walls and imperfect pavements, her art brings her emotions evoked by nature to the canvas. While her art has the symbolic meaning of nature’s beauty, her paintings also offer visual experiences. The textures that come from her brushwork often create unexpected shapes, making it a fun challenge to discover new forms.

Styles

Over the years, Jasmyn has improved her techniques and developed two different styles. Her structured paintings bring to mind impressive mountains, solid rocks, and expansive landscapes. Her paintings created using a pouring technique show the movement of the sea and its currents, sometimes even suggesting the presence of fire. Even though these are two different ways of painting, they both have a common theme... nature.
